Alternate Route to Membership Program

MBCP, CBCP or ABCP will be considered for membership in the BCIalternateentry1003

The Membership Council of the Institute has carefully examined other BCM credentials, mapping them against BCI certification, and felt it was appropriate to extend an invitation to join the BCI to those who hold respected credentials.

To date, the Council has identified the MBCP, CBCP and ABCP as credentials whose foundations are broadly in line with the requirements for our AMBCI and/or MBCI certifications.

Recognized as a validation of experience and knowledge, professionals that hold MBCP, CBCP or ABCP certifications and are in good standing are invited to apply for membership in the BCI without having to pass BCI’s official exam.

"Human Aspects of BCM"

On 9 April 2008, the BCI hosted a Workshop on the Human Aspects of Business Continuity

The event was geared towards highlighting the extent to which organisations factor people, their most important asset, into their business continuity strategies. A series of presentations highlighted the importance of encouraging interaction between the HR department and the BCM team to ensure that staff are a BCM priority. Participants were given an insight into an array of techniques which can be employed to integrate staff into their plans and shown the benefits that such measures can generate in terms of strengthening the relationship between employee and company.
